Each of our hotels is a one-off, brimming with character, history and charm. The Brownswords’ personal preference isn’t dictated by footfall or fashion. It’s all about intuition and originality — places with ambience, places with pedigree … places that feel right.  We go out of our way to make sure our staff feel comfortable being themselves at work, valued for who they are, and part of the wider family. We refine and polish, improve and tweak, make every detail count. For us, being different is a badge of honour.

All our hotels have their own stories and heritage, their own features and quirks. From Devon to Glasgow, Brownsword hotels are integral to their place, part of the local fabric, connected to the environment that surrounds them. We’re a tight ship, with a small management team. Senior staff are hands on and very involved in the day-to-day running of the hotels. We believe work should be enjoyed, that we should derive satisfaction from offering the best possible service, that we should stand by each other, our hotel and our company.

Quality is at the heart of all we do. Our buildings and grounds are impeccable, our bed linen is as crisp as can be, and our artisan breakfast bread is baked to perfection. We take pride in every detail.
